Sunday Service: Watch Out for Greed

“The more you get, the more you want.” Few truths cut more deeply across the breadth of the human experience. No matter how much money or stuff we amass, we never feel like we have enough. Jesus’ counterintuitive insight is: not only does wealth not make us happy (beyond lifting us out of poverty and offering the basics of life), it often makes us anxious, agitated, discontent, and lonely. Again, we discover that Jesus’ invitation to simplicity and generosity is an invitation to joy. Contentment itself is a way of being in which we are deeply happy with what we have, and our life as it actually is, here and now. The beautiful message of Jesus is that contentment cannot be bought, but it can be given … Join us for our Sunday morning service as we worship God together through songs, prayer, Bible teaching and fellowship. Children and young people are welcome, with age-appropriate groups upstairs on most Sundays. Teas and coffees are served before and after the service. Everyone is welcome.
